Over the past four years since the Path's conception began, support has come from a number of different places, including individuals, foundations, organizations, corporations and governments. We want to take a moment to recognize all of these entities and to thank them for sharing our vision and for their tremendous support.
Financial Contributors
The Abraham Path Initiative is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2007. The vision for creating the Path was initiated by the Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University. Initial project support and funding has come from the following organizations and foundations:
- Global Negotiation Initiative, Harvard University (USA)
- Leadership Team, Abraham Path Initiative Brazilian Chapter (Brazil)
- Dedeman Hotels (Turkey)
- Kellogg Fellows Leadership Alliance (USA)
- Rockefeller Brothers Fund (USA)
- Kingdom Foundation (Prince Al Waleed bin Talal) (Saudi Arabia)
- Sir Halley Stewart Trust (UK)
- Threshold Foundation (USA)
- Association for Global New Thought (USA)
Each of these are contributors to the Abraham Path Initiative organization, but are not involved in its management or operation. The organization is dedicated to supporting the development of the route and development of local support in the region that will make it sustainable.
The Path's development has also received support (both in-kind and financial) from individuals residing in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Netherlands, Palestine, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and the United States.
Governmental Support
Public statements of support for the project have come from the Ministries of Tourism in Turkey and Jordan. In addition, we are working in different ways with the governments along the path to advance the mission of the Initiative. With the Syrian Government we have been informed of their intention to create a Syrian Cultural Walking Trail and we are hopeful to establish a relationship with it in the future. Countries supporting the Initiative include: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Netherlands, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and the USA.
Partners
The Initiative is currently partnering with the following entities. We deeply value their contribution and commitment:
Individuals
Affirmations of support for the project have come from many corners of the globe — from schoolchildren to Nobel Peace Prize winners, such as Jimmy Carter and the Dalai Lama. In addition, there have been a tremendous number of people who have contributed their time, advice and counsel to the Abraham Path Initiative organization as it has evolved.
